When what you prayed for is Delaying

Have you ever been in a season where things are tight and don’t seem forthcoming? Have you heard a promise from God about areas of your life and it looks like it is taking too long to come to reality?

A lot of us can relate to these and the truth is, there will be seasons where the things happening around us will look like God’s promises are delayed.

However, from scripture we get to see how men and women navigated through those seasons, and eventually got the fulfilment of God’s promises.

Firstly, have full faith in God. Just like a man named Abraham, who was seeking God for a child with his wife Sarah for 25 years, after God had called him out of his hometown into a place God promised to take him to.

God promised to make him the father of many nations, with his descendants as countless as the stars. But for 25 years, there seemed to be delay in the manifestation of God’s word.

He trusted God with reckless abandon such that when he would be spoken about later in scripture, it was written of Abraham to have believed God as one, ‘who calls those things which do not exist as though they did;’ We must ensure we trust in the Lord with all that we are, not minding what we see in the now.

Secondly, maintain a consistent relationship with God. It is very important to be aware of what God is doing and saying NOW. “Now” means per time in at different points in your process.

Pray, worship, stay with his word. It didn't take 25 years for God to fulfil His promise to Abraham; it rather took Abraham 25 years to become the man who could handle the wealth of God’s blessings.

What if what you need now is to become a version of yourself that has capacity to contain and properly manage God’s blessings?

Lastly, never lose your Joy. In Isaiah 12:3 ‘Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.’ We see that joy is not just an emotion but a spiritual tool that we can use to draw into physical manifestation, the Spiritual blessings God has for us.

Hoping for a thing endlessly can cause you to become weary and depressed, hence, the need for joy.

Be assured of God’s good thoughts for you. Continue in faith, joy and openness to God’s words.
